2301 Georgia Ave, NW

Finally some serious progress for the Custom Fuel pizza coming to Georgia Ave. These are the same folks who reopened at 17th and Pennsylvania Ave, NW back in August. This is going to be a great addition to this long neglected strip. You can see their menu here. It’ll be located right next to the Potbelly:

    nice, when does it open?

Anything to bring more life to this strip is good. I’ve always been confused by the lack of vitality in this area. Aren’t the fundamentals pretty good with college students around plus a relatively high density residential area?

North Carolina style pizza isn’t very compelling.

You could open a Papa Johns here and I’d be happy. Shut your piehole.

Why do you keep saying that?

The pizza from their regular stores like on K St is pretty mediocre. But I have to say the pizza I’ve had from their “custom” store by my office near the White House is pretty tasty.

Years ago there used to be a Five Guys in that building. I remember going to 9:30 club and getting food there before/after. Not sure why they closed.

They really need a 7-11 in this area. I almost miss the old gas station down by the school of dentistry because it’s hard to find convenience supplies in that area without dealing with the grime of the CVS at Florida & GA ave. Can’t wait until the other developments come to this area.

I went to the Fuel Pizza on K Street once. It was probably the worst pizza I have ever eaten. The frozen Safeway pizzas are better. :-(

I am looking forward to having another option for lunch.
