Back in June we learned College Park’s Fishnet would be opening a second location in Shaw. While they had hoped to open by the end of the year you can see they are making nice progress on their buildout:

They’ve also applied for a liquor license which says:

“fast casual seafood restaurant offering hand filleted fish sandwiches with a cadre of homemade sides, sauces, and signature items.  Seating capacity 40, total occupancy 45.”

Hours are listed as 11am – 1am Sunday through Saturday.

You can see their College Park menu here.

The College Park Fishnet has great fish tacos. It’s in an out-of-the-way location though, which may explain why it’s always empty when I go in there. Or maybe early in the evening on weekdays is not a happening time in College Park. I wish them luck in their new location!

I live in Shaw, and I love that things are really taking off. That said, as a vegetarian, it’s really disappointing that we now have a row of 3 single-food places (ham, oysters, fish) that I don’t eat. I don’t need the whole world to be vegetarian, but it’s a bummer that this whole strip is so hyper-specialized that it’s out for me. Again, I’m not complaining that they’re serving these foods, just that it’s at the complete exclusion of anything else.

Sitea is going to have vegan muffins and other vegan foods. I tried a muffin at the Shaw Main Streets event, and it was delicious!

The College Park location offers falafel typically. There might be other vegetarian options as well, but I’m not certain.

Mockingbird Hill is not exclusively ham

Same here. I definitely appreciate the new additions to the neighborhood, and I will try each of these places at some point, but the hyper-specialization of restaurants in DC in general can be frustrating…that said I guess it’s better for them to be really good at making one or two things than to be less-than-mediocre at making a range of foods

You’re a vegetarian. Get over it. Eat your vegetables at home.

Good – we need a fast casual restaurant. Now where’s that Bank of American ATM that was rumored???

More fast-casual restaurants are exactly what we need in Shaw/Logan/U Street. So many full-service, higher-end, sit-down restaurants and bars but very few places to just drop in for a quick bite. I’ll definitely be a regular at Fishnet!

Shaw continues it’s extremely impressive run. This must be the most restaurants to open in a DC neighborhood in one year.
