I love these. More squirrels on PoPville please!

Aw I think they’re cute. Except that they ate a big chunk out of one of my pumpkins :-/

They’ve been nibbling away at my pumpkin too (although they spared most of my figs this year, so I’m happy about that). I’m still hoping I can carve the pumpkin later this month– maybe if I spray something on it they’ll stop eating it?

This is what I was wondering too. Maybe the bitter apple spray for dogs (it tastes bad and keeps them from licking themselves)? I don’t know if this would work on squirrels since they probably like apples :D

I was thinking hairspray since I already have it and it’s not like we’re eating the outside of the pumpkin anyway.

Ooh, just found this! White vinegar seems like a viable option…

  • I thought the “SquRat” was your nemesis!!! :D

We had a summer roommate from another part of the world that had never seen a squirrel before and was in love with them! I can’t imagine a world without squirrels!

Mehitabel the Tabby says that she would help you eliminate your nemesis if the people would allow her to go outside. She KNOWS that she could get that squirrel!

    • I used to have a tabby named Mehitabel! She was not good at eliminating squirrels, though, or anything else for that matter.

Our Mehitabel has proven not to deal well with eliminating archy and his relatives. She did kill a mouse once, we think. (Although that may have been her sister Rosalie.)

But now Mehitabel has decided that the squirrel on the porch is her mortal enemy. So she stalks him through the window. She doesn’t seem to actually want to go outside, as she doesn’t charge the door. She just flings herself at the window when the squirrel goes past.
