If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit.

Pups in Park

“Just wanted to send one last pic of my sweet Cally, who was put to sleep yesterday. She lived a wonderful 14 1/4 years, the last 4 in Columbia Heights. She was such a sweet girl and brought me and everyone who met her so much joy, she will be missed but it was her time!”

“Monkey relaxing on H Street after spring break!”

Pat from Cleveland Park

“Pat the Field Spaniel, chilling in Cleveland Park (with a glimpse of Maddy Beagle in the background).”

Very sorry about Cally. Tough decision but the kindest one you could make if it is time. Monkey and Pat are cute.

  • Cally was a beautiful, happy-looking girl. So very sorry for your loss.

Monkey and Pat are super cute.

  • So sorry for your loss of Cally. There is a beautiful tripawd desert dog named Maya from Kuwait at the WARL shelter. When you are ready, check her out.

  • Ronald

Seeing Pat makes me wonder if Ernie the Flying Dog has a little field spaniel in him…

  • Cally’s human, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Very sorry for the loss of Cally. It’s always heartbreaking to hear about someone’s pet passing. I’m sure you gave her a wonderful life most dogs could only dream of.

So sorry about Cally. I hope the Nats win for her tonight!

Is Maddy Beagle the same beagle who appeared in that crazy picture of her laying on top of another dog and the radiator? That is still my single most favorite AAF picture ever.

    • Maddy’s Mom

So sorry about Cally. 14 is a fine old age for a big dog. It’s so hard to let them go.

@Anon 4:52: Yes, that is the same Maddy! She has two Field Spaniel friends to lounge about with/near/on. In the radiator pic, her back end was sitting on Harry, my other Field. She is a very funny dog, and, happily, Field Spaniels are very mellow.

@Ronald, I just went back to look at old Ernie posts. He is adorable! He certainly does have spaniel-y ears.

Please submit another picture of Maddy! I have a soft spot for beagles, that picture captured so much of what makes them irresistible. We’d love to see more of her antics!

        • Maddy’s Mom

I have a Maddy classic, but I’ll wait a bit, as PoP requests, so I don’t hog The Fix. :-)
