DC Lit: Come Get Some!:

U Street Music Hall
1115A U Street NW
Monday, April 29th, 2013
7:00pm – 11:45pm | FREE!

On Monday, April 29, five DC-area presses, magazines, and arts organizations will gather at U Street Music Hall for an evening of readings, prizes, and music to celebrate the areas ever expanding independent literature scene. Organized by the good people at Barrelhouse, Big Lucks, Flying Guillotine Press, Lines + Stars, and 826 DC, the event, titled Come Get Some, is an opportunity for Washingtonians to get to know some of the folks involved in DCs indie literary community and to meet other friendly neighbors who spend as much time reading as they do, but who also like to socialize.

Its also a good excuse to drink on a Monday night.

The event will showcase local authors Sean Carman, Amelia Cohen-Levy, Carrie Murphy, and Michael Sheehan. Attendees can win prizes such as copies of new releases from participating journals and presses, as well as tee-shirts and other assorted goodies. Throughout the evening, DJ Patrick Kigongo (We Fought the Big One) will provide music.

See all of tonight’s and the week’s events here.  To add your event, click the events tab up top and then click “add an event”.  You can add concerts, museum/gallery exhibits, fundraisers, sporting events, bike rides etc. You can add anything you think will be of interest to PoPville.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
