Thursday, April 11th, 2013
7:00pm – 11:45pm | $12

Presented by DC Adventure Films and Active Nature, Fish Mungas CONGO The Grand Inga Project, will make an appearance in the nations whitewater capital, Washington, D.C.! Steve Fisher, expedition leader and the director of the film will be on hand to introduce the film and talk about the expedition.

Recently awarded BEST FILM at the X-Dance Film Festival in Salt Lake City the worlds premiere action sports film festival. CONGO The Grand Inga Project is an 80 minute film that follows Steve Fisher, Tyler Bradt, Ben Marr, and Rush Sturges through the 50 mile stretch of the Congo River known as the Inga Rapids. Flowing at 1.6 million cubic feet per second, these rapids have resisted navigation since the first attempt by Henry Mortan-Stanley in 1874. Congo explores the previous attempts at navigating the massive whirlpools and waves of Inga, while also documenting the teams training, preparation and the historic first successful descent. This is a river like no other, and these rapids were a big step more difficult than we’d anticipated, says Fisher, We may have survived these rapids, but somehow we feel more humbled than proud.

D.C. is home to the Great Falls of the Potomac River, a cascading gem of the whitewater world. Its proximity to the nations capital and incredible gradient, make it one of Fishers favorite places to paddle in the nation, Great Falls has some of the best paddling in the country especially this time of year. D.C. has been a vibrant kayaking community for decades and home to many world renowned Olympic athletes and thousands of beginners to experts in multiple disciplines (freestyle, river runners, etc). For this reason, DC Adventure Films and Active Nature along with Steve Fisher share this exciting film to the D.C. Metro paddling community. Fisher says I have some good paddling friends there, and I’d love the paddling scene to see the films.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
