Directly from the hills of the Gruyre district of Switzerland, the storied Choeur des Armaillis de la Gruyre visits Washington for a rare U.S. appearance. Literally translated the choir of the herdsmen, these men spend most of the year tending to the cows that produce the regions world-famous cheese. Founded almost 60 years ago, the choir has won numerous awards at international choral festivals. They join DC’s own 18th Street Singers, the District’s premier choir of young professionals, for a special concert in which both groups perform music from their native lands. Produced in coordination with the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C.
