My guess is that the developer is getting greedy with rent, hence the hold up. This is 100% conjecture, however.

    Hmm??

Pop-ups usually horrify me. However, this one I can live with. It is nice how they carried on the motif of the quirky little circles.

It’s my understanding that the ANC Commissioner for the Area, Teri Janine Quinn, was/is the one hoping to open a wine bar there. Not sure what the hold up is either.

It looks great. Those Bork kids had totally trashed it by the time they were done with it.

thats not true at all. i went it there when it was the thrift store and it was an absolute shit hole. the borf kids actually fixed it up a bit.

It’s cool they kept the funny little Napolean hat, as well.

  • Looks Great – would have been cool if they kept 1908 and just added 2012 to the Pop-up.

North Cap is definitely lagging behind 1st st. Hopefully when things start coming in it will be as rapid as our neighbor to the west.

I went to a punk rock show there in 2008.

  • Whatever happened to BORF? I remember those days…

    • Walker, DC Ranger

Saw him in Adams Morgan about two years ago… pretty sure he moved out west, if I remember correctly. He was back in town to do a gallery showing in Anacostia.

Y’all know this house was an art gallery, right? He paid the landlord like $1 rent for the year, as long as he and his cohorts left the place in better condition than they got.
