6:00pm – 8:00pm | $9There’s a lot of chatter out there, but not a lot of communication.
Wandering Minds creates modern salon-style conversation-based events that bring smart, interesting, and curious people together to discuss, explore, and chew on all sorts of random topics from the absurd to the deeply meaningful, and everything in between.
Our conversations are lead by topic experts who provide insight and background on the matter at hand, but the real fun comes from YOU!
Our debut conversation will tackle the Civil War and the impact that losing 2% of our population (that’s the modern equivalent of DC times ten!) had, and continues to have, on our society.
Civil War expert Aaron Killian, founder of Civil War Battlefield Tours, will ask: How could our nation endure such carnage? What changes occurred in society, religion, and the role of women?
We will then open it up for attendees to explore: Is there a situation that could come to pass where a modern America might wage war on such a devastating scale? In the age of Twitter and 24 hour news, would we ever allow such carnage?
The nature of death, the call to sacrifice, the justness of violence, the impact of war on the individual and the larger society; all these issues were as relevant then as they are today.
Join us to lend your voice to this fascinating and important discussion.
Space is very limited in order to maximize a thoughtful conversation, so buy your tickets today to ensure you can participate!
And don’t forget – it’s at a bar, so you can learn while drinking!
Tickets: $5 Early Bird, $9 Advance, $12 At-the-Door.
