Former Bar then Church on Georgia Avenue

Lots of folks add this old church to the PoPville flickr pool. And it’s easy to see why – it is a fascinating spot. Once a bar then a church – with a simple Jesus sign in the solitary window:

And for the first time I see that it was called Peep Inn back when it was a bar – just when I thought it couldn’t get any better.

In the year 2020 this will make for a good ‘Remember When?’ post.

I predict that in 2020 this will be a bar called ‘Church.’

Kind of looks like it was called “Deep Inn,” which wouldn’t be all that odd for the name of a seedy dive on Georgia Avenue. I wish somebody would turn around the signs, do the very minimum renovations and clean-up necessary, and reopen it as a bar.

im not sure that jesus would even set foot in that church

Of all the gods, I bet he’s the one most likely to be found there.

The photos of this place remind me of either The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Children of the Corn. Not sure why, but they do….

    Yuck. Just bulldoze it.

Is it really a church now? Is that all you have to do to be declared a church… Duck Tape a Cross to a reversed sign?
