From MPD:

This morning at about 2:30 am, five people were shot inside a club in the 2400 block of Benning Road, NE.

A woman and four men received non-life threatening injuries when a man inside the bar shot at patrons.

We do not have any suspect, nor have we discovered a motive for this shooting.

When more information becomes available we will pass it to the community and we ask that if anyone has any information that may be helpful you please call 727-9099.

At least they caught the shooter from the recent NW DC murder! Interesting this one was inside a club with 5 people shot and they don’t have a suspect? You’d think there might be some security video footage….

  • Lanier

Considering how much of a hard ass Lanier has been (rightfully so) about this kinda stupidity I imagine she will shut this place down for good.

    Good riddance

    • Maybe she is waiting for an official report this time before placing blame on the club itself (remembering the DC9 incident).

Have you had other issues with this place? What?

The owner of DC Sound Stage has been a great partner with the Kingman Park neighborhood. He regularly lets the neighborhood hold community meetings and holiday parties there. While the clientele may not be the best, the owner has always been willing to do what he can to help the neighborhood. It would actually be a huge blow to the neighborhood to lose this spot and add another vacant space for homeless and vagrant people to break into.

the clientele may not be the best. i guess not!

I laughed at this, am I a bad person?

    • Maybe you can hold your meetings at the spaces available at the Rosedale Rec Center – just a few blocks over. Actually – that whole area has a lot of civic meeting space options.

The owner has tried to address some of the issue caused by young patrons. We’ve had several fights break out outside the venue after shows, and noise and trash has been a problem, but he has tried to address it. He even reached out to the neighbors and sent out an apology letter after one particularly messy weekend.
