4200 Wisconsin Avenue, NW

Back in Oct. we learned that a new spot called Firelake Grill would be moving into the former Ruby Tuesday’s space at Van Ness and Wisconsin Ave, NW. Here’s a bit more info from a liquor license application which says:

“New Restaurant serving American Classic and featuring grilling over a live oak and hickory burning fire. Jazz music will be played, including live performances. Number of seats inside is 193. Total Occupancy Load is 225. Number of Sidewalk Café seats is 60.”

Why do these licenses always read like something from Smoove B?

“Next, we will go to my luxurious apartment, where I will prepare a meal for you that will make your mouth water for more. I will prepare green beans with butter. I will serve rolls. I will serve vintage wine and also a bowl of corn. I will serve, as a main course, cooked pheasant. The pheasant will be composed of the highest-quality meat available, packaged in only the finest styrofoam and cellophane. It will be a meal fit for a Nubian queen.

Mashed potatoes will also be offered. ”

When I dine there, I expect to be serenaded by Bob Seger’s 1980 classic Fire Lake, playing over and over on the sound system.

Once a most delicious Swensen’s Ice Cream and the best post movie destination around in upper NW.

Isn’t there a lake of fire in Hell? Will they have decent happy hour deals on burning sarcophagi, brimstone shooters, and bubblegum mugaritas?
