Lisa Marie Jakabs current work focuses on elegantly intertwining densely controlled masses with lighter atmospheric elements. The abstract imagery she creates using biomorphic forms is derived from a loose interpretation of observational visual stimuli. She uses a mostly monochromatic palette as well as synthetic, high intensity colors.
The energy in her works are sustained by process-oriented methods. She experiments with the natural tendencies of paint and ink, like dripping, and embraces these accidents as fuel for reactionary controlled brush marks and line. In her beautiful works, Jakab explores the psychology of cognition, specifically the space between a definable idea and its origin within human thought processes and sensory stimulants.
