Dear PoPville,

I’d be interested in knowing what bars (other than the usuals) will be playing the United game with sound on Sunday? Looking for a good place to watch!

I vote for The Pug at 1234 H Street, NE. For other soccer fans – where will you be watching?

The first leg of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Houston Dynamo is on Sunday, November 11 at 4:00 pm. DC will play at home on on Sunday, November 18 at 4:00 pm at RFK. Go United!

  • Due to 4pm NFL games, avoid bars that might host Jets, Eagles or Cowboys fans. Of course this would apply to any day.

Yeah most bars in this city are usually taken over by transplants watching some out of town team. I’m going to Irish Whiskey with Barra Brava, but The Pug would likely be a good option. Trusty’s will probably have it on since the Lions game is at 1pm.

Yea, pug or queen vic would probably be a good move for that game

queen vic would provide a bit more room..

Also Duffy’s, since both the Skins and the Packers are on a bye week. I’d bet he will have it on with sound in either the front or the back.

  • Bar Pilar usually has soccer on during the weekends. Plus they serve an awesome brunch menu up until 4pm. The only word of warning is that the bar seating gets fully pretty early on big soccer days so you might need to show up early to get a good seat.

  • Touchdown on U Street is an “official” DC United partner so they will definitely have it on, but I’m not sure if that means one TV while the rest are on NFL games. It’s a great place to watch games but check I’d check with them first. Lucky Bar on Conn Ave (well known as a soccer bar) will certainly have it on, too.

Go to the game! There’s no way in hell they’ve sold out RFK Stadium.

    • I think OP was asking about the game this Sunday which is being played in Houston.

But yes, anyone in DC who wants to watch the game the following week should go to RFK and watch it in person. That place is going to be nuts.

  • Duffy’s Irish Pub

Duffy’s will Have DC United on with Sound Sunday in the Back Room. NFL on in the front. And $10 Pitchers of Miller Lite During the Game,
