The 5pm Post – From the Events Calendar, PoP Picks…

Brewmaster’s Ingredient Series:

Washington Wine Academy
1201 South Eads Street
Arlington, VA
Wednesday, September 19th, 2012
7:30pm – Wed 9:00pm | $45.00

Beer- its only as good as the sum of its parts. Those parts- the Hops, the Barley, and the Yeast- are what were examining for our next series of beer classes! We look at one
ingredient a night so come learn about the importance and influences on specific styles while tasting examples. Each night will feature six beers which will showcase the specific hop, barley, or yeast so you can discern the differences between East Kent Golding and Simcoe (hops, of course)! There will be cheese and sausage to keep you sated as we break down brews into what really makes them unique.

While no prior beer knowledge is required, we do recommend at least a familiarity as we will not be covering basics in this class.

Your teacher is Mike Reinitz, homebrewer extraordinaire who recently came in second in a DC home brew competition and will have his beer brewed by DC Brau. He also works part time at 3 Stars Brewing.

Wednesdays September 19th, 28th, and October 3rd- classes will start promptly at 7:30 so please arrive by 7:15. They will end at approximately 9:00 pm

See all of tonight’s and the week’s events here.  To add your event, click the events tab up top and then click “add an event”.  You can add concerts, museum/gallery exhibits, fundraisers, sporting events, bike rides etc. You can add anything you think will be of interest to PoPville.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
