U Street Movie Night July 25th – showing Protocol:

Harrison Recreation Center
1330 V Street NW
Wednesday, July 25th, 2012
7:00pm – 10:30pm | FREE!

The U Street Movie Series returns for a third summer Wednesday July 25th at Harrison Recreation Center, on V Street between 13th and 14th Streets, NW. The theme this year is Date Night in DC. This month’s movie will be Protocol with Goldie Hawn. In this 1984 classic sweet, unsophisticated Sunny (Hawn) is working as a cocktail waitress. She saves a visiting dignitary and as a reward she gets a top-office job in the Washington beehive. She has to fight against a devious protocol officer but with her charms, she saves the day when she gets involved in an arms deal with an Arab country. Local businesses Marvin, The Gibson, Patty Boom Boom, and Blackbyrd are providing a DJ starting at 7:00pm. We should have a food truck, MPD handing out icecream, and perhaps the 9:30 club giving out a few free tickets. Screening begins at sundown (at around 8:15pm).

Remaining movies are August 22, 2012 – The American President, and September 26, 2012 – The Pelican Brief

All movies are shown outdoors in a family-friendly environment and are free and open to the public. You may want to bring a blanket to sit on. Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the park. Donations and sponsorships are accepted at movies.ustreet-dc.org and will benefit Friends of Harrison Recreation Center, a nonprofit formed in 2009 that works directly with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation on capital improvements and design changes, and enhancing park management and programming.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
