    That’s a high move-in fee.

Seriously, wtf is a “move-in fee”? Whatever it is, I will never pay one. Application fees are enough.

I have yet to come across any apartment/condo building that doesn’t require a move in fee. They supposedly go toward a maintenance fund that helps repair damage done by a move. I think it’s ridiculous, but it’s pretty standard.

        • I agree…I never paid a move in fee…but only can think that this is a result of the economy/increase in rentals, over past several years, so they can get away with it b/c they can. Still all sucks!

    • ….

when i was looking at places last sept, one fancy high-rise place in n dupont circle wanted a $1200 move in fee. good lordddd

i’m thinkin this one is not such an awesome deal. as a comparison, my apt’s close by — has same amenities (new hardwood floors/carpet/kitchen/bath), is 2 blocks from woodley stop, but it’s only $100 more ……

what if you rent it but don’t really move in?

  • I wish there were more photos

  • Renter beware – almost 2 entire blocks near there (Wisconsin & Macomb to Wisc. and Ordway) are about to be demolished and rebuilt into condos. The project is expected to take 2 years and construction traffic is being diverted right by that location, especially on Idaho Ave. Metro may even divert some of their buses from the area. Its not going to be fun living there for awhile.

This is not Cathedral Heights. It’s McLean Gardens. I used to rent there, and was not charged a move-in fee.

And it’s extremely doubtful that traffic is going to be re-routed through McLean Gardens because of the construction.

    • Gawd, I hate the hair splitters on these comment boards. Yes, its McLean Gardens but the post referes to it as Cathedral Hts and therefore, so did I. And I said that construction traffic will be diverted BY that area, basically the major arteries that feed into the McLean Gardens area. If you have nothing of value to say in these forums, don’t.

        Yes sir or ma’am.

Didn’t realize you were in charge here now. But seeing as you seem to think you are, I bow to your message board rules. You must be a real fun person to be around.
