Listed District’s Phenomenal Finds Vol. 7 – Spring Fever

Ellen Richardson, a graphic designer and Pleasant Plains resident, recently took her Craigslist hunting skills to the next level with the launch of her blog, Listed District. Listed District offers daily DC Craigslist findings of everything from Mid-Century and Industrial furniture, to bikes and the utterly strange.  Every week Ellen is going to share a roundup of some Phenomenal Finds with PoPville.

They say that the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. So I’ll admit it: I have a problem. I have a full-blown, out-of-control case of spring fever. Actually, I think it all started last fall when I planted the first of my very own bulbs – daffodils and crocus. My hard work has been rewarded this spring with a yard full of gorgeous daffodils, carefully tended phlox, and creeping, blooming periwinkle. But it hasn’t stopped there. Last weekend I spent both days planting more bulbs – hopefully that hard work will be rewarded with summer-blooming poppy anemones and dahlias!

Today’s Listed District Phenomenal Finds focuses on a few CL items to help you get into the spring planting and yard work mood. One of the next big projects at our house is creating a patio using pavers – whether you prefer concrete or bricks, I’ve found a few good CL options to get you started. Another dream of mine is to have a compost bin and rain barrell. Every garden benefits from compost, and a rain barrel will help you keep that lawn watered without breaking the bank (…and don’t get me started on the many GREEN benefits of rain barrels).

So get out there and get your hands dirty! It’s good for you, good for the environment, and good for your neighborhood. And after you’re finished, reward your hard work by firing up the amazing Green Egg grill I found as a bonus – it’s just amazing as you’ve heard!

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
