Good news while I was gone – from MPD:

“The Metropolitan Police Department announces that an arrest has been made in the double homicide shooting of 31 year old Dominique Barber, and 32 year old Jimmie Lee Simmons, and the shooting of 21 yr old Anthony Lamont Thomas which occurred on July 9, 2011, in the 1400 block of Parkwood Place, Northwest.

Mr. Irving Harris Johnson of Northwest, Washington DC, was arrested and charged with two counts of Murder One While Armed, and one count Assault with Intent to Kill While Armed. He was arrested this morning by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing of Marcellus Bailey.

On Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at approximately 2:45 am, units from the Fourth District responded to the 5300 block of 8th Street, NW to investigate the report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, they observed a male suffering from a laceration to his body. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent was identified as 24 year-old Marcellus Terrell Bailey of Northwest, DC.

On Friday, September 9, 2011, at approximately 6:40 am, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested and charged 28-year-old Davon Holmes of Northwest, DC, with Murder Two While Armed pursuant to an arrest warrant.”
