“Dear PoP,

Lots of police activity on the 1300 block between V and W around 3:30am Friday morning. Helicopters circled for over a half hour with spotlights in the alleys around Union Row. There were still cars and police tape around the alleys this morning. Any idea what’s going on?”

I’ve received many inquiries about the incident above. MPD writes:

“Early this morning an adult female was found unconscious in the 1300 block of W Street NW and was later pronounced deceased.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department on 2027279099 or 888919CRIME
or text at 50411.”

I asked specifically if it was going to be a homicide investigation and they said not a homicide.

  • MichelleRD

    Deceased. Whoa.

  • WDC

Er… if it’s not a homicide, why does MPD want more info? Just to find the next of kin? I thought hospital social workers did that. I don’t get it.

they would still like to solve the case. you know…maybe find out what happened.

  • StubsDC

This is why, when I run, I always bring an ID with me. I never want to be the Jane Doe. Maybe its morbid, but I like to be prepared.

      Plus wear clean underwear.

      • BP

        And socks without holes too!

      • Anomynous

Why? You void your bowel and bladder when you die. Why do you think they call it “Passing Away”?

        • Anonymous

thats not why they call it passing away.

          • anon

            oh, you’re no fun anymore.

  • where

in the MPD statement does it say the victim hasn’t been identified? She could’ve had ID on her, but they might not have released the name yet, or any number of other possibilities.

  • that is crazy, scary and really sad.

  • Anon

Shouldn’t they be a bit more descriptive than “Adult Female?” How is that supposed to help in anything?

Heard that the adult woman was a homeless person, so I’m guessing the police are having a hard time determining her identity…
