Judging Restaurants – Cafe Paradiso

by Prince Of Petworth November 17, 2010 at 12:00 pm 4 Comments

Cafe Paradiso is located at 2649 Connecticut Ave, NW in Woodley Park. I happened to notice that they are getting a pretty big renovation (they’ll be closed for the next 2 weeks) but wanted to check in with people if they’re were any fans. You can see their menus here. Any fans or is this for the hotel crowd?

Zero comments in 3 and a half hours – pretty much shows you the liveliness of Woodley Park’s dining scene.

We used to go there in the mid-90’s, when we lived in Woodley – it had pretty good food, was kind of a neighborhood place, and was inexpensive (at the time. They had a fireplace, and a balcony. Now – those prices are insane! Leave it to the hotel crowd.

I have to say that none of the restaurants in Woodley Park are that good. Some of them run decent happy hour specials if you live in the area, but I think Chipotle is your best bet there… sad to say.

I’ve lived in Woodley for 3 years and never go anywhere except Tono Sushi and Open City. Every other place is a total hotel/tourist trap. Paradiso sucks. Real bad. End of story.

Why does Cleveland park have such a better scene? I mean even the new Ripple puts anything in Woodley to SHAME.
