The flier says:

“Gorgeous multi-level two bedroom penthouse condo in the heart of Penn Quarter. Beautiful 600 sq. ft private roof deck with view. Dual entry, 10″ ceilings, hardwoods, open floor plan, gourmet kitchen with stainless, granite, six burner stove, wine frig, center island, LL media room, cedar closet, jet tub. Perfect for entertaining and luxurious city living!”

You can find more info here and a virtual tour here.

I would consider doing something illegal for that roof deck. Holy cow. But what do you guys think of the condo itself? Do you like the staircase? Does $649,900 ($436 monthly condo fee) sound reasonable for this 2 bed/1.5 bath? I can’t stop thinking about that roof deck…

  • I don’t know what stuff costs downtown, but I like it!

    Amazing deal for that location.

  • award

The place is very cool, but it’s basically one bedroom and an office. I still like it

  • CShaw

The place is amazing. What a great deal – private roof deck and I would go crazy in that kitchen!

  • The 10″ ceilings are going to be a problem.

    • Columbia Heights Boy

Formerly headquarters of the Lollipop Guild if I recall correctly.

Why are 10″ ceilings a problem?

      • drafter

        ” = inches.
        ‘ = feet

  • esha

    the deck looks sick.

  • K St.

    Great deal. I want.

  • Park Viewer

Good deal, if you want to live across the street from the Verizon Center. Whether you want to live across the street from the Verizon Center is another question. Personally, I like my quiet, tree-lined neighborhood streets.

That doesn’t stop me from drooling over the roof deck and kitchen.

  • Fellow Petworthian

The deck is nice, I can see it from my office, not to mention the large apartment building behind it. It is nice, just not private. But it does sit next to one of the best thai restaurants in the city, Absolute and Family Dinette has the cheapest breakfast in town!

  • Alex

That’s actually a ridiculous price for something like that. With the wow factor- they could ask more. Not the greatest street though. Fees are reasonable for something that size, it’s just the taxes that suck. And who cares if the patio is not private. That’s a patio to be SEEN on!

  • ZCF

yeah I guess I have to be dissenting voice here. the deck is killer and the condo is beautiful. I didn’t look too closely at the listing, so I don’t know what the square footage is, but that said. It looks like the second bedroom can only fit a SINGLE bed. So yeah this is a glorified one bedroom.

So $650K is not a deal to me. How much are killer one bedroom condos going for in that area?

  • Penn Quarter Guru

Responding to my neighbor Kev29 – the 400Mass cookie cutter 1bdrm is HARDLY comparable to a historic 1200 sqft, 3 level condo, with a 600 sqft private roofdeck and unimpeded views of the bldg museum and capitol dome.

  • ro

Let’s face it, you’re not paying for square footage and second bedroom here, you’re paying for a private roofdeck and proximity to gallery place/downtown.

  • Petworthian

Wow. Nice kitchen. The couch should be facing the kitchen island, you know that’s where you’ll be hanging out all the time.

  • ONoBilly

Do you all know what used to be there? If walls could talk!

I believe it was a legendary brothel.

you know how it got busted? people talking about prostitution AND posting the address on a discussion forum.

  • Sun Massage Parlor Fan

Wasn’t that Sun Massage Parlor back before we got a lady police chief and our most un-fun mayor ever?

  • A

Love the roof deck, hate the circular staircase. Those things make me nauseous.

  • Christopher

You’d have to pay ME to live that close to the Verizon Center.
