Some people have been a little skeptical of the U Street Sushi joint that just opened up but I have to say the space itself looks pretty good.

I am quite impressed with the place. I’ve eaten there three times. The staff is very friendly and the sushi is amazing. GO THERE!

Horrible name. Clearly no japanese involvement.

I must have at least four sushi restaurants saved in my phone book. I love sushi. But people should know that many sushi restaurants in the DC area are not owned or operated by Japanese, and most Americans don’t know the difference. Many are run by Koreans or Thai. I’ve never been to Japan, can’t vouch for whether their sushi is authentic: I just know it’s good. So don’t be surprised that Japanese are not always involved. Though I did know a Salvadoran guy who made sushi, named Lolo (nickname for Dolores, a male). His Japanese boss pronounced his name Roro. This story still cracks me up.
