Your Afternoon Animal Fix

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 6-8 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

    What a good looking turtle!
Sophie looks like she’s plotting to surreptitiously knock that drink into the sink.

    • “Sophie looks like she’s plotting to surreptitiously knock that drink into the sink.” Hahaha! That reminds me of a YouTube video I saw of something very similar.

  • Such a cuddly reptile!

  • A Red-Eared Slider! My brother has had one since 1992- he is our family’s longest living pet. They are supposed to live 60-70 years, I think…
Tank is so cute with his raincoat.
Sophie is gorgeous! Just love gray cats.

    • Serious question – do turtles have personalities?

      • Haha! Not so sure about that, but I have nothing to compare to it. He does get excited when you come close, but that might have to do with feeding. He doesn’t particularly like being handled. My bro’s turtle has lived a life of contentment in a 20 gallon aquarium for 23 years. He went into starvation mode/rebellion when we tried to put him in the recommended 30 gallon aquarium. They are simple creatures with simple needs.

        • Yes! I definitely believe turtles exhibit personalities. This one is just 7 years old, but yes, poised to life a long and healthy life. She’s a rescue and exhibits very interesting behavior, from curiosity to affection. When the vet tried to coax her mouth open to examine her beak, she extended her neck out to be scratched underneath. lol – the vet said that was a first. 🙂

      • My turtle at least likes to follow me around house and will come sit on my lap if I’m sitting on the ground. They’re great.

  • Why so many make-up brushes?

  • I like that Sophie is enjoying a rum & coke. Ha.
