  • Lovelovelove this row, PoPs. Numbers 1111-19 E Cap SE, were built in 1892 for the Washington Real Estate Co. The estimated cost for all five, according to the permit-to-build, was $20,000! What is most interesting to me, looking at the permit application, is that they were to be built of granite. I always figured they were limestone. I can’t recall ever standing there and “feeling their material.” Can a Hill denizen please inform us as to the material we’re looking at here? Is it really granite?
