That’s a great deal. We lived in that building in a one bedroom several years ago and paid $1800. The building is pretty dated but if you want to live near GW it’s a good location.
Awesome deal for a GW student
Bargain!
I feel like this is a scam. A 1-bedroom, 3 blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro for $1,500…without any pictures at all?
If it’s an older building full of students then $1500 a month is just a fairly good deal — but not so good as to be scammy. Some of those buildings are de facto dorms. I wouldn’t say that’s a scam. Just is what it is.
That’s exactly what it is. Unless they’ve renovated (doesn’t sound like it), this building was dated back in 2000. $1500 is prob a fair price.
The price and location are a good deal. I googled the address and it’s a condo building – my guess is that the landlord has owned it for so long that they don’t realize that they could rent it out for more. (I’m in the same situation – I pay $350 less per month than what another unit in my building is being advertised for right now on Craigslist.) The building also has some reviews on apartment ratings dot com (mostly good, a few complaints) and it sounds like quite a few of the units are rented to GW students.
I lived in that building between 2000 and 2006…in a 1-Br…$1500/mo is an astounding deal (it would have been a good deal then!). Agree that the building is a little dated and isnt the shiniest of stars…but you cannot beat the location. If it had parking included it would be a goldmine for the owners (the parking spots are deeded in that building). But…if I were going to GW or sending my kid to GW…Id try to jump on that in a heartbeat (unless a visit revealed truly unlivable conditions).
