Loving Pride: A Cross-Community Conversation

In the Christian Gospels, Jesus instructs his disciples that the second greatest commandment is to “love your neighbor as yourself.” This powerful call to reflection raises universal questions for all of us. What does it actually mean to practice that kind of care? How can we learn to love ourselves in a way that moves us to love our broader communities, too? And how does that relate to pride?

To explore these questions, Abrahamic House invites neighbors of all backgrounds and faiths to join us for a panel discussion.

Guest speakers from different denominations will bring both their text-based knowledge and personal experiences to help us better understand the meaning of self-love. Whether this teaching is part of your own tradition or you are curious to learn from another, we welcome your voice in this cross-community conversation.

This event will take place on June 16th at 6:30PM in the Dupont neighborhood.

Location details will be provided via email within 72 hours of the event.

Please Note: At Abrahamic House, we value a wide range of voices and traditions. Please note that the views expressed by individual panelists are their own and do not necessarily represent the organization as a whole, and are intended to foster open learning, mutual understanding, and respectful community dialogue.
