Grab your yoga mat and prepare to experience inner stillness at the intersection of language and contemplative practice with celebrated yoga and meditation instructor Aparna Sadananda, PhD. Join us to explore and discover Sanskrit not only as language, but as a lived sensory experience.
Join Aparna for part 1 of this dynamic two-part workshop series where you will be guided through a curated sequence of yoga poses (asanas) and learn their Sanskrit names and meanings. Explore how understanding these terms shapes our mind-body experience. Become familiar with some of the most heard Sanskrit pose names in contemporary yoga classes, such as “Tadasana” (mountain pose), “Chaturanga” (four-limbed staff pose), and more.
This playful and highly engaging workshop is open to yoga practitioners and students of all levels and abilities who seek yoga as a physical or spiritual practice, or both. Modifications as well as chair- or wall-supported pose options will be offered.
