Capitol Hill Swing Dance One Year Anniversary

The Capitol Hill Swing Dance on Third Thursdays turns one this month! We’ll have giveaways, a raffle, and refreshments to celebrate, along with the usual beginner lesson from Gottaswing and live music from The Capitol Hillbillies.

Last September, after wishing for years that Capitol Hill had a regular social dance, we set up The Capitol Hill Swing Dance for the first time at St. Mark’s. We weren’t sure who would show up, but we hoped our friends and neighbors would help us start a new community tradition. And you really did!

On Thursday, September 17, help us mark one year of Third Thursdays with the usual great lineup, plus a few surprises:

At 7 pm, Caitlin and Robert from GottaSwing teach a beginner lesson. All levels welcome, no partner needed! (At the set break, they also lead an awesome routine called the Shim Sham… IYKYK)

From 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, The Capitol Hillbillies play a multifarious mix of lively swing tunes from the 1920s-1950s.

We’ll celebrate the anniversary with giveaways! A raffle! And refreshments!

Bring a friend, shake a leg, and help us kick off year two.
