Amazon Worker Solidarity Rally (Photo via Becker1999/flickr)

Unionization efforts have been all over the news lately. Employees across the country are demanding higher wages, better benefits and hours, improved working conditions — and ultimately a voice.

The efforts of Amazon warehouse workers, in particular, have generated buzz. Starbucks, Apple and other big names have been pulled into the conversation, too.

But here’s what Well-Paid Maids founder Aaron Seyedian wants to know: If Well-Paid Maids can pay employees living wages, provide them benefits and ensure safe working conditions… why can’t these big-time corporations?

Forget the matching pajama set, coffee mug or body scrub this Mother’s Day. (She already has plenty.)

Instead, surprise the special woman in your life with a creative, fresh flower bouquet from D.C. florist Volanni.

These aren’t generic, big-box arrangements. Michael Lanni, the artist behind these bouquets, puts creative care into each of his designs. As Lanni likes to say, “This is our art, and flowers are our medium.”

The creativity is obvious when looking through the dozens of bouquet options. The “Fresh Linen” rose bouquet is made of 24 white roses and simple green accents, making it sophisticated yet cozy. The “Gable” bouquet consists of bright orchids, tulips and succulents, giving off a modern yet fun vibe.

Pick out the perfect Mother’s Day bouquet, and place your order online. Volanni makes deliveries throughout the DMV. All deliveries will go out Thursday, Friday and Saturday (May 5-7).

Remember: Mother’s Day is coming up on May 8 and flower availability is limited, so you won’t want to procrastinate.
