Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by RLAH Real Estate.

Featured Property of the Week: 618 D Street NE

“This gem proves that they just don’t make them like they used to. Step back in time and cherish many fine details a classic Capitol Hill home is meant to boast, with original hardwood floors, sliding pocket doors, five-panel doors, transom windows, pine and chestnut woodwork, and more timeless details. The stately bedrooms offer tons of space, drenched with tons of natural light seeping through the immaculate sash windows. The basement has tons of space to make your own, whether for relaxing, working, or guests, along with a large bathroom and laundry room. The nods to the classics are clear, but the intertwining of some modern touches is just pure genius. Look closely at the glass cabinets and then look back into the dining room — the same diamond pattern was used to infuse the new with the old. Another eye-catching feature is the Humphrey radiant fireplace appliance — an absolute treasure and a piece of art. If you’ve had enough time inside, check out the many outdoor space offerings. Whether gardening in the front, grilling in the back or catching up on some reading on either of the back porches (one is even a screened sleeping porch), you’re sure to enjoy yourself. The location? Unbeatable. Steps from Stanton park, quick access to Junction Bistro, Union Station (metro and regional train), Nostra Cucina, Schneider’s & Union Pub. Everything H Street has to offer is a quick walk North where you’ll find Giant, Whole Foods, Cane, Solid State Books and so much more. Want to go further? Rear access parking means you can go anywhere!”

Other Notable Fresh Listings:

  • The Most Expensive Home of the Week is a 6 BR/6 FB/2 HB traditional style detached home that was built this year with 9,300+ total square feet spread across 4 levels and features a 2-car garage, elevator, screened porch with fireplace, a 2nd kitchen, 2 laundry rooms and a luxurious owner’s suite with sitting room, fireplace and dry bar — all for $5.6M.
  • “This well-appointed, [2 BR/2 BA] top floor apartment is an ideal place for any home buyer looking for a unique residence in Washington, D. C. Bright and airy, this west-facing residence displays rare sunset views over historic Georgetown.”
  • “Great opportunity to own a 2 BR in the city. This wonderful property has been updated and comes with newer appliances, new marble countertops, and tile flooring.”

We love answering reader questions down in the comments section. (Pop down there and say hi!) One question we’ve received: Is Well-Paid Maids’ home-cleaning service pet-friendly?

The short answer: Yes!

The longer answer: We love pets and pet owners! We don’t charge extra for homes with pets. If you have any specific pet-related directions for your cleaner, just leave a note in the “home access instructions/parking/other note” section during the online booking process.

Pet owners have left us a lot of love in our Yelp reviews.

  • Amy P. said: “We’ve worked with Well-Paid Maids for over two years and have always been pleased with their services. Our current cleaner, Allison F., is very thorough and detail-oriented. She always arrives on time. She also baby-talks our cats. :-)”
  • Sara S. said: “My floors, kitchen and bath are the cleanest they have ever been. I also have two pets, and [our cleaner] was diligent and careful to not bother them or accidentally let them outside.”
  • Jason H. said: “I was worried about my cats, but they didn’t seem very put out at all, so it’s a win all around!” (Knowing cats, that’s a huge vote of confidence!)

And we only use products rated “Low Concern” or “Lowest Concern” by the Environmental Working Group. That means your pets are safe from harsh chemicals.

Plus, Well-Paid Maids takes care of its employees (not contractors) by paying them a living wage of at least $22 an hour and offering benefits like health insurance, 22 paid days off per year and more.

That means you can feel good about hiring Well-Paid Maids — and finally get rid of the fur tumbleweeds, rogue litter and kibble crumbs around the house.

Book your cleaning online. We can’t wait to meet your fur family!

Stop wasting hours of time getting your car maintained or repaired! Discover the joy that is CarCare To Go and see why so many people are leaving reviews like the one below.

CarCare To Go brings modern convenience and simplicity to car repair. They combine the quality and trust of a full-service shop with a uniquely transparent process, plus free valet pick-up and delivery from your home or work.

I used CarCare To Go twice recently, and both experiences were extremely positive. In the first case, I had been told by a quick lube center that they could not change the oil in my wife’s Toyota because the oil filter housing was cracked and had to be replaced. CarCare To Go inspected the housing, determined it was not cracked and changed the oil. In the second case, I asked CarCare To Go to examine my 18-year-old car because I had been told by another mechanic that it needed expensive repairs. CarCare To Go told me that the costly repairs were not necessary and gave me some tips to keep the car running smoothly. The valet service is extremely convenient, and everyone I’ve dealt with there has been friendly and professional. I will definitely use CarCare To Go again. — Rob B.

CarCare To Go is so confident that you’ll love their new service and come back for more, that they’re offering first-time clients an oil change for just $20.22. No catch. Synthetic or blend for any make or model car. Just enter coupon code FIRST20 when you book.
