If you have any question whether inflation is real, just try buying a car.

The average price for a new car was $47,000 in January, 2022 which is 22% above pre-pandemic prices. The used car market is even crazier with average prices up 45% (no typo!) over the past year to over $26,000 this January. With continued semiconductor shortages, supply-chain challenges and global disruption from the war in Europe, things aren’t expected to get cheaper anytime soon.

All this means that you want to avoid being forced into that market. The best way to do that is to keep your car healthy. The good news is that there’s now a service that makes car maintenance and repair as easy as ordering groceries online.

New auto repair company CarCare To Go delivers trust, transparency and free valet pick-up from your home or office. See why clients give them an average 5.0 star rating.

And now CarCare To Go is offering an extraordinary deal for first time clients — oil changes for just $20.22. No catch. Synthetic or blend for any make or model car. Just enter coupon code FIRST20 when you book.

On Saturday, thousands of residents in the Dupont and Logan Circle neighborhoods opened their doors to find an odd gift waiting on their doorstep: a single roll of toilet paper.

Raising awareness in a creative way, local delivery service, The Rounds, dropped off thousands of rolls on their fleet of e-bikes across The District.

The Rounds is a zero waste delivery service of household essential items working to create a convenient, affordable and more sustainable way to shop. In addition to offering the basics like toilet paper, soap and cleaning items, they also work with local partners to offer door to door delivery of their goods.

The Rounds’ members can get weekly refills of freshly baked bread from Seylou Bakery, locally roasted coffee from Compass Coffee and their morning bagels from Bethesda Bagels. Unlike your typical delivery service, The Rounds sources products in bulk and delivers items in reusable packaging. Plus, they pick up your empty containers to be cleaned and reused, like a modern day milkman.

This fast growing startup has been on the move both in the District and across the East Coast. After launching in D.C. in August, they just expanded into their third market, Miami, this month.

Test out a new way to get your essentials and get $20 off with code POPVILLE.

You already know that Well-Paid Maids gives our cleaners the respect they deserve.

We are the D.C. area’s only living-wage home cleaning company, paying our cleaners a starting wage of $20 per hour and providing a full benefits package including 22 paid days off per year, health, dental, and vision insurance, and employer-paid commuting.

And, because of that, our cleaners give your home the respect it deserves.

Our cleaners are thorough, thoughtful and conscientious. Instead of overworked, underpaid and burned-out contractors who rush through as many jobs as possible, our happy, professional staff is glad to work for us and for you, and you’ll see the proof throughout your home.

But did you know our managers are famous for giving you the respect YOU deserve?

That’s right! Our cleaners are great at what they do but stellar cleaning is only half the story behind Well-Paid Maids’ popularity. The other half is our excellent managers, Ogi and Dasha, who go above and beyond to make sure our customers are taken care of. So whether you have a schedule change, a logistical challenge, a question before you book, or feedback about your service, Ogi and Dasha are always at the ready to help you out quickly and professionally. As former cleaners, they’ve seen and done it all, and they always know how to keep things running smoothly.

By March 1st, Well-Paid Maids will go from being fully-vaccinated to fully-boosted!

In a continuation of our vaccine mandate, all existing staff must get their booster as soon as they become eligible. Furthermore, we have revised our hiring guidelines to make having a booster shot a precondition for employment.

Why? Because in addition to being the D.C. area’s only living-wage home cleaning company (all our employees start out making at least $20/hour and receive a full benefits package including 22 paid days off per year, health, dental, and vision insurance, and employer-paid commuting costs), we are committed to being our region’s most pandemic-prepared cleaning provider.

In our view, it’s a no-brainer. We want to keep you and our staff safe from coronavirus. That is why we…

  • Shut down for 7 months at the beginning of the pandemic
  • Required customers to leave their homes during appointments when we were back open pre-vaccines
  • Made vaccination (and now the booster!) mandatory for our staff
  • Continue to have our staff wear masks in your home and ask that you wear a mask when sharing space with them as well

What does this mean for you? You can feel as safe as possible having Well-Paid Maids come to clean your home. Ready to get your home safely cleaned? You can book your cleaning online right now!

Welcome to Coffee with Coleman! I’m John Coleman, and in this feature, I’ll cover real estate topics in fun and easy-to-digest video breakdowns. If there’s a topic you are interested in hearing more about, feel free to comment on the video and/or reach out to me directly.

In this video, we explore what strategies buyers can use to win houses in multiple offer situations.

While we’d all love to pay at or below the listing price, we’re seeing many examples of where houses are getting multiple offers and buyers want to know what they need to do to win. In this video, we break down the strategies we use to put our buyers in the best position possible to win the home.
