At what point do you start saying, “damn it’s time to mow the bricks?”…

Looks like it was once a gigantic spool of thread, right? I love cool tables like this. But what do you think this table’s original purpose was?

Haven’t received too many entries yet, so get on your horses and email them to [email protected]. You just need a photo and a couple of sentences.

“This is my roommate Chris. We live in Shaw, and we’ve been housemates for almost three years but we’ve known each other for almost eight. He is one of the most knowledgable and funny people I’ve ever met. He seriously deserves an award for putting up with me (and my fiancee, who moved in with us last year without a word of protest from Chris). He patiently puts up with the two of us, who happen to be on the messy side, and never (okay, fine, hardly ever) complains. He bought a Wii for the household and lets us play Wii tennis for hours. He keeps a bucket of candy in his room and doesn’t mind sharing. He takes turns with dog walking/feeding and is our dogs’ favorite uncle. He is such a good roommate that my fiancee and I are hoping to buy a house with a basement apartment rental for Chris, so we can keep our “family” intact even after the wedding. He is like living with live entertainment- I seriously get an ab workout from laughing when we hang out.” Photo that I suspect may end this wonderful friendship after the jump. (more…)

I was just about to take a drink before I spotted the note saying that it was an “info tube”. I understand sometimes sarcasm is difficult to convey in the written word. But does this tube really need to be labeled? Really? What’s happened to us?

The Web site, World Changing, talks about Urban Design and Transportation and under Community talks about “Health / Education / Empowering Women / Philanthropy Social Entrepreneurship / Arts and Culture” plus lots more. It is awesome and good lunch time reading.

The following comes from their manifesto:

“Worldchanging is a solutions-based online magazine that works from a simple premise: that the tools, models and ideas for building a better future lie all around us. That plenty of people are working on tools for change, but the fields in which they work remain unconnected. That the motive, means and opportunity for profound positive change are already present. That another world is not just possible, it’s here. We only need to put the pieces together.”

A reader writes:

“So I am sitting in a coffee shop on 17th Street right now (of all places) on vacation, and a dude across from me totally just opened up a fed ex box and pulled out what appears to be a vintage Michael Jordan Dream Team Jersey. Seriously. He was holding it up to himself and now he’s checking the tags. He’s like practically asking for all of the people here to stare at it. For some reason I find this to be hilarious. If I could take a picture without seeming super creepy, I would.”

Phenomenal but for the fact that I’m pretty sure I did the same thing when I received my Patrick Viera France National Football Jersey…  Although, at least I was in my own home at the time.  That is pretty hilarious.  But it does beg the question:  Michael Jordan – greatest athlete of all time?
