Lest you think I’ve forgotten about murals…

Now since I recently turned 33 I haven’t been going to playgrounds as frequently as I have last year. My knees are starting to hurt a bit. And I get really funny looks. But I stumbled upon a dope sky playground on Westminster Street just off of 9th Street, NW. If you are under 33 or have little children it is imperative that you check it out. It is not a huge playground but it is surrounded by beauty. There is this phenomenal mural and other pieces of art scattered throughout. Check out more photos after the jump. (more…)

Do you think the painting was inspired by the windows? Check out their wild fence/sculpture after the jump. (more…)

I kind of like how the leaves on the ground look they fell from the trees in the mural.

This one is super cool as it is actually a mosaic. Also I think it was done by many kids in the Ethiopian and Latino communities. Check out the full mural after the jump. (more…)

Or wait a second are they saying ‘upstate N.Y.” and then pointing to the gutter? Because if they are that is freaking brilliant. The mural, however, leaves a bit to be desired…

Damn communists… Next thing you know I’m going to see kids romanticizing Che Guevara walking around with his portrait on their t-shirts.

So who can name the spots featured?

It was the Saturn in the background that did if for me…

I’m not sure if they are trying to burn the flowers with the aerosol but it is a pretty unique mural…yeah, I don’t really get it.
