Gotta love the third floor balcony.

Gotta love the third floor balcony.

Sadly it is mostly blocked by a fence. But happily the fence and gates are pretty cool:

More after the jump. (more…)

I dig that second floor balcony. Since it’s Friday I have to post another insane HotD before I forget:

This house was super wild because it was the only house on a commercial strip. Literally the only one. I’ve never seen this before. It’d be like all of a sudden if there was a house in the middle of U Street between 13th and 14th… (From Brookland).

Continuing with Brookland week…
They’ve taken the southwestern flavor pretty seriously!

I really like the house (in Shaw) on the left because its got a double wide front yard. It’s pretty rare to see a front yard of a rowhome this large. Surely, a nice spot for a morning cup of coffee…

From my first journey in Brookland. Check out the sweet cedar shingles on the dormer up top.

A Mount P Classic.

Another sweet find from my Eckington walkabout. Sorry for the umbrella but there was a wicked glare without it. Sweet house though, yeah?

There’s lots to like about this house. It has a lot of great details. I particularly like the row of windows on the third floor.
