I’m not sure if this is a new spot or just one that I never noticed before. I actually love the name Yoga Chai because it reminds of Cobra Kai, the baddest dojo in town. Not sure if that’s the vibe that the yoga spot was looking for…

“as a gift to our community, quiet mind yoga is now offering a weekly, revolving FREE class for everyone to enjoy!
this week’s free community class is wednesday, june 11th at 8:00 pm with jewel greenberg: www.quietminddc.com/free_class.html
check the homepage every monday at noon to see when the next free class is offered: www.quietminddc.com
note…
to be sure that everyone has a chance to enjoy the community class, there are no online reservations available. we ask that students arrive at the studio a little early to ensure a spot in class. the studio can comfortably fit up to 25 students. thank you!”
Quiet Mind Yoga is up on 14th Street in North Columbia Heights. That’s pretty cool they offer a free class. Now, they just need to work on that sign…

I don’t why but I thought this was a funny sign. I realize they are saying that just because the cafe is located in a gym doesn’t mean you have to be a member of the gym to enjoy the cafe. I guess it’s a good thing. So anyone from the community know if it is a good cafe. Good to know there is free wifi. Incidentally, the other sign said if you join now the summer is free. So anyone a member of Mint in Adams Morgan? Is this a good gym? Sign for the free summer membership after the jump. (more…)
From a reader:
“So, I worked out at the newly opened Washington Sports Club at DCUSA this morning. Not sure when it opened, but the place is MONEY! Full length 4 lane lap pool with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Irving St; a full court basketball court with a beautiful old school wooden gymnasium floor; huge layout of the weight/cardio room with sweet views from the corner of 14th and Irving. Didn’t get any photos (they’re pretty strict about that sort of thing), but it’s a great addition to the neighborhood.”
If my swimming skills consisted of more than the doggy paddle, I’d totally be there. It definitely sounds awesome though, very cool to hear.

So as you can probably tell, I take tons of photos all around town. Sometimes in the evenings when I’m picking photos for the next day I come across one that I have no idea what I was thinking. So I thought it would be a fun contest. Place your caption and the best one wins a PoP t-shirt.

Unfortunately there will be no Results Gym at this location.

My lord this is a fairly disgusting image to get someone to join a gym. WTF? This is just wrong. You can check out the ass fat after the jump. (more…)

This should probably be in the Smithsonian somewhere but I was stunned to see it just sitting on a curb. Abs by Jake of course is from one of the greatest infomericals ever next to that rotisserie chicken thing by Ron Popeil. As I was marveling at this modern day work of art, a guy walks right up and takes it right in front of my eyes! That guy is going to have some pretty sick abs. Well truth be known I’d rather find one of those rotisserie chicken things.
