This Sat. I walked by Theodore Roosevelt High School and it sounded like the Super Bowl was going on. When I went in for a closer inspection it turned out that two Pee Wee football teams were playing each other. No matter, the loudspeakers were in full effect which must have been super cool for the kids. I was lucky enough to catch a 53 yard touchdown run pictured above.

I know I’m way behind the curve on this but I don’t have any kids. At any rate, the new playground on Taylor St. is fantastic, a what lush lawn…

I was walking through Cleveland Park today when I noticed this nice playground. At this playground there were actually children playing. I was shocked. I had just walked by the playground on 11th and Monroe and all I saw there were men huddled in big groups drinking. Hmm. I think the children of our neighborhoods have just as much a right to play in a playground as do the children of Cleveland Park. So has anyone else noticed the abundance of grown men at the 11th St. playground?

Great photo of the playground construction on Taylor St. from Susan. Obviously it is a few weeks old but do you think it will be ready by Summer?
