Here’s K’s other selection for today. She says: “Also is a picture of a really nice deck and parking space on an end house. The husband was out doing yard work so we talked to him for a few and told him how much we liked his deck. He said his wife designed it all herself and would be flattered to hear the compliment.” Super cool.

Thanks to K for sending in this photo, she’s been on fire (one more coming later this afternoon). So why would a one story house like this be built next to “regular” rowhouses? Is it possible it was once a carriage house or something like that?

I like how the house numbers were included in the security door. Very cool touch.

I really like the metal roof and windows. It looks like it might be an art studio. It is located on Otis Place near 11th I think. Anyone know what this building is/will be?

More props to K for sending this great photo of folks enjoying their porch and playing some mean sax.

This building located just south of the new convention center is architecturally freaking awesome. I seem to recall that there was supposed to be a DC museum or something like that but it didn’t end up working out. Of course there is a banner that says welcome to the Historical Society of Washington, DC, so I’m pretty confused. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Weren’t there some money problems and it closed after 6 months or so? Anyway, I was overjoyed to see these gigantic banners advertising two new exhibits going on inside.  Specific exhibits after the jump. (more…)

Seemingly ordinary with a slightly modern flavor. But after the jump check out what the view from its front porch looks. (more…)
