Quite a sight on a random Saturday afternoon.

Quite a sight on a random Saturday afternoon.

I tried to get a little artistic with this photo. Yeah, it won’t happen again. More traditional shot after the jump. (more…)

I generally don’t support artists glorifying pigeons but I have made an exception for this one.

I think it’s about time I started showing this building some love. After all this is where the Yes! Organic Market will eventually call home.

I was way premature in announcing the knocker’s downfall.

For the record, it is the one on the left.

Nice! This stand is located in front of Red Derby at 14th and Quincy but I’m pretty sure there is another one a bit further south on 14th near Park. It is arguably the perfect snack.

It is a beautiful sight and a welcome one for the coming warmer weather. I spoke to Sasha, the owner of Red Derby at 14th and Quincy, who mentioned that brunch will be offered starting next Sunday! Always nice to have another cool brunch option. I can’t remember what will be on the menu but it sounded awesome. I’ll post the menu shortly. So what’s your favorite spot for brunch?
The following series was created by our intern in Petworth, Julian. This week’s question were:
1.How long have you been in the neighborhood, and what changes have you witnessed? If your move was recent, what brought you here?
2. Does the neighborhood, as it is, offer you the things you need? What would improve it?
3. What place or thing is your favorite in the neighborhood?
4. What is special or not-so-special about U street?
5. Have you noticed the changes in Columbia Heights affect business in the area at all? Does it make you want to move away from U street?
