From a reader:

“As I was walking home today along 15th Street, just across the street from Meridian Hill Park, I happened to notice the crude but frightening makeshift weapon you see pictured: a half-brick stuffed in the bottom of a tube sock, which is tied at the opening. I assume it’s a simple bludgeon. Creepy. Someone could be literally killed by one whack with that thing.”

It’s painful to remember that we can live in a pretty sick world at times.

This of course is located in Georgetown. Anyone know when the street cars stopped running here? It’s interesting that they left the rails in, yeah? Kinda cool though…

Believe me, I swear I never thought I’d ever post about Ballston, VA let alone post something nice…but damn they have some sweet bike parking outside the metro. I feel like they should build this feature in to all metro stations. Anyone ever see bike parking like this outside a metro in the District?

This sweet church is in the Capitol Hill area. I didn’t catch the name. Anyone know it?

I’ve never seen one like this before. The balcony above the porch is pretty sweet.

This door is from the Dutch Embassy (Residence). I guess that’d make the flowers tulips, yeah?

“I’m a longtime reader who loves your blog. Since you are such a big door afficionado, I was wondering if you (or any of your readers) has a recommendation for someone who sells and/or installs doors.”

Sadly, I just covet other people’s doors. I have a rather sad one myself. Anyone have some recommendations where you can purchase some cool doors?
