I’ve shown his art before in the vacant storefront at 1541 14th Street, NW (formerly the international bookstore.) But I had the chance to see the artist himself this last weekend. It turns out his friend is the owner of the space (it’s still for rent) and Gary suggested that he place some art there rather than keep the space barren. He will be there on the occasional Saturday, so if you see the door open be sure to check out the art and say hello.
Though I think for this style porch a rocking chair would be even better.
It always saddens me when I see homeless folks in church doorways. Let’s put homelessness on our list of problems to solve. I’m not being sarcastic. It is a “hidden” problem that is not pleasant to talk about but it’s quite heartbreaking.

In discussing the Raven renovation a reader commented that they hope the bathroom graffiti would be preserved. So when I went to Wonderland I thought I’d see if any of their bathroom graffiti was interesting. Sure enough this one jumps right out at you. It gave me a good chuckle.
We’ve actually monitored the progress on this home across from Cardozo HS on Clifton. I just noticed that the back of this home is pretty sweet. It’s an interesting back addition. A reader last week suggested I also take photos of the front of “judging backs of rowhouses”. So I was surprised to see this was a pop up we had viewed a while ago.
So what do you think of the back? The pop up? Any supporters?

Ah, I see from the Web site that this is an Ann Cashion spot of Cashion’s Eat Place in Adams Morgan (and of course she’s also involved in the H St. Country Club among other spots.)
