But not for a good reason. While this house looks like it could be super sweet, I’m wondering if they ran out of brownstone… Do you think it looks a bit bizarre with brownstone on the bottom and brick on the top two floors? Is this common? So seriously, did they run out of brownstone?

This a good sized door and I like the color as well. Then I walked a few blocks away and discovered the same exact one, which, I’ll be honest, takes a little away from the original coolness factor…

Not what I expect to read on the Petworth Listserv but it sure woke me up.

I walked by this place dozens of times on 14th Street south of the Taco Bell. I’ve always assumed it was the Masons or the Red Elks or somebody like that. So who knows the scoop on this? And what do the symbols mean? I’ve always wanted to belong to a “Supreme Council” of some sort…

The other day I saw a guy on the metro, in the middle of the day, who was snoring so loudly it surely could wake the dead. Now, the guy obviously had been working very hard and was completely out. But the snoring was so loud and painful it made the sound of fingernails scratching a blackboard sound pleasant. So my question is you can’t wake the guy right? I mean I tried the fake coughing but that was as far as I was willing to go. So what’s the etiquette here?

For those who saw the pregame to the Georgia-Hawaii game: Don’t you think Fran Tarkenton looks exactly like a cast member from Monty Python?

A reader writes: “I was wondering: I have a 27-inch regular television (not high def or anything like that, though it still works perfectly fine, has remote and manual) sitting in the middle of my living room floor, unused. I know that as people move to high-def sets, these TVs aren’t as valuable anymore, but I was wondering if there might be a neighborhood charitable organization that might be willing to accept it. Perhaps for a waiting room, or to hook up to a game system for some kids?” So if you know of a charitable group that needs a tv leave your contact info in the comments and the reader will get in touch with you.

It says: “It’s easy to ‘love thy neighbor’ with neighbors as nice as you”. For real? I mean can’t you just bake your neighbor a pie or something if you feel that strongly? Cookies are nice too? Hell, you can even shovel their walk but this sign goes too far! You have to draw the line somewhere right?

I normally don’t like the plain red brick style but I think this one looks pretty sweet. I dare say it looks dignified.

So is this really how you are going to distinguish your dry cleaning business? Is this go lure in many customers? The tuxedo set? How often do you have to clean your tuxedo anyway? I got a tuxedo off a dead guy (long story) about six or seven years ago and I still haven’t cleaned it yet. Is that wrong? Anyway, if you’re looking to get your tux cleaned this joint is located on 14th St. not too far from the Dunkin Donuts. By the by Reagan National Airport now has a Donkin Donuts too. Nice.
