Students from Piano & More recently brought their Winter Recital directly into senior living communities across Arlington, McLean, Falls Church, and Washington, DC, offering residents a live music experience performed by young local musicians.
Instead of hosting the recital in a traditional concert venue, the nonprofit music studio chose to perform inside senior homes, creating a more personal and accessible event for residents. Students performed on piano, guitar, voice, and other instruments, sharing a variety of musical selections.
Residents responded warmly to the performances, many expressing appreciation for the students’ focus, confidence, and musical ability. The music filled common spaces with energy and connection, and several residents were visibly moved by the experience.
The recital highlighted music’s ability to bring generations together. For seniors, the event provided live entertainment and meaningful engagement with the local community. For students, it offered valuable performance experience in a supportive, real-world setting.
