Washington, D.C. – After the summer break, it is time to reconnect. The French-American Chamber of Commerce opens the doors of the Embassy of France for the Garden Party de la Rentrée, an event that brings French art de vivre to the heart of the U.S. capital.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Embassy gardens will host an evening of gastronomy, culture, and elegance. This annual celebration also marks a moment of welcome for the new diplomats arriving at the French Embassy, making the event both festive and meaningful for the transatlantic community.


Experience Arlington’s largest free outdoor music festival at the 33rd Rosslyn Jazz Fest! Presented by the Rosslyn Business Improvement District in partnership with Arlington Arts, this year’s festival takes place Saturday, Sept. 6, from 1-7 p.m. at Gateway Park (1300 Langston Blvd., Arlington, VA).

Leftover paint sitting in your basement? Recycle it with PaintCare! PaintCare is hosting a free leftover paint drop-off and PaintShare™ giveaway event at Ida B. Wells Middle School (405 Sheridan St NW, Washington, D.C. 20011) on Saturday August 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Households may drop off any amount of latex or oil-based paint, stain, or varnish. Paint must be in sealed, original container with original manufacturer label. We cannot accept aerosol coatings, solvents, or other hazardous waste. Businesses may drop off any amount of latex paint, but limits may apply to oil-based paint.
