From Sunday, May 14 through Tuesday, May 16, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will be on the National Mall to host the Celebration of Construction on the National Mall from 9:00am – 5:00pm with construction equipment and technology on display for the public to experience. The event will span the National Mall from 9th to 14th Streets NW. This free public event is a unique opportunity for families with young children and anyone who wants to see the equipment building the world’s infrastructure. At The Craft Lab, we’re dedicated to making science accessible to everyone, so visitors of all ages can immerse themselves in a unique and interactive experience like no other.


RIPPLE EFFECT, a group exhibition featuring seven contemporary artist-jewelers investigating the power of potential of ceramics in personal adornment. Influenced by and in response to the zeitgeist of our times, artists explore the voids and interstices between jewelry and the human form by manipulating clay, porcelain, and metal. The exhibition features artists Jen Allen, April Felipe, Mia Kwon, Lynn Latta, Maia Leppo, Lorna Meaden, and Didem Mert.

Fresh off a successful National Council of Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference in Cincinnati, RIPPLE EFFECT is traveling to Washington, DC during Smithsonian Craft Week, May 5-7th, 12-6pm.
