We welcome artisans and attendees to the Dupont Artisan Fair. Our season kicks off on April 26th at our premier venue in Dupont Circle. Artisans will also participate in the first special event of the year, Embassy Day, May 3rd which we hope will attract an impressive turnout of 30,000 visitors, just like last time!

After that, we will be back every other Saturday, starting May 17th and continuing through December, culminating in three Christmas Extravaganza shows that also draw thousands!


Got leftover paint? Recycle it with PaintCare! PaintCare is hosting a free leftover paint drop-off and PaintShare™ giveaway event at Ballou High School (3401 4th St SE, Washington, D.C. 20032) on Saturday May 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Households may drop off any amount of latex or oil-based paint, stain, or varnish. Paint must be in sealed, original container with original manufacturer label. We cannot accept aerosol coatings, solvents, or other hazardous waste. Businesses may drop off any amount of latex paint, but limits may apply to oil-based paint. After a record breaking number of finishers in 2024, the Pride Run is back, back, back again to celebrate their 13th annual 5K. Come join us on Sunday, June 1, 9:00 AM as over 1,500 runners race for PRIDE at the Historic Congressional Cemetery. After your run, enjoy our post-race party with dj, live entertainment, and beer/hard seltzer to cool you down after an early morning race.

Return to Carderock Manor as we step into an evening of elegance and enchantment as the Washington Opera Society invites you to A Musical Masquerade, a night of exquisite music, fine dining, and artistic celebration.

The evening begins with an intimate reception from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, where guests will mingle in a refined setting, enjoying delightful refreshments. As the sun sets, the concert commences at 6:00 PM, featuring a spellbinding program of opera and song performed by internationally acclaimed artists:


Join the Capitol Hill Chorale for “A Tribute to Alice Parker” on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 16 at 4 p.m. at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church.

Alice Parker (1925-2023) was an influential American composer, arranger, and teacher. Though best known for her arrangements for the Robert Shaw Chorale, she went on to produce masterworks of the choral canon. The concert will feature standards such as “Deep River,” “My Gentle Harp,” “Garden Hymn,” and “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal.”


Join us for a weekend of creativity and discovery at the Craft Lab! Perfect for parents and kids, this FREE event features exciting hands-on science and imaginative craft projects. From cloud-making to origami, collage crafting to chemistry, there’s something for everyone.

Drop in anytime between 12 PM and 6 PM on both days. No registration is required, but arriving mid-event is recommended to avoid crowds. Each activity takes about 10 to 30 minutes, making it easy to fit into your schedule.


Local writing nonprofit 826DC is looking for teams to participate in Paddlestar Galactica, a low-key ping-pong tournament supporting their free youth writing programs. This year, there’s also a pickleball option! No matter which game you choose, you’ll be making a big difference for DC students and their teachers.

826DC offers free writing workshops, homework help, and publishing projects for DC students ages 6-18, in their Columbia Heights writing center and in learning spaces across the city.


March 20-29, the DC Environmental Film Festival (DCEFF) will host screenings (many FREE) of over 75 eye-catching and exciting new films at venues across the DMV Area, including museums, foreign embassies, universities, and other cultural institutions.

This year’s lineup promises something for everyone, including films about wildlife, environmental justice, Indigenous land defenders, and the boundless mysteries of nature. On the schedule, you’ll find family-friendly new films from National Geographic, new titles having their US and World Premieres, a new documentary about Hayao Miyazaki, and exciting work from emerging artists.
