In the United States, the holiday season ends after New Year’s Eve. In France, January is when the celebration continues ✨
La Galette des Rois is one of France’s most cherished traditions, with more than seven hundred years of history. Throughout January, families, friends, and colleagues gather repeatedly to share this ritual that blends gastronomy, symbolism, and togetherness.
At the heart of the tradition is the Galette des Rois, a puff pastry filled with almond frangipane and topped with a golden paper crown. Hidden inside is la fève, a small porcelain charm. Whoever finds it becomes King or Queen for the Day 👑, a playful honor that inspires toasts, laughter, and shared celebration. Many kings and queens will be crowned during the evening.
Experience this tradition as it is lived in France, without boarding a plane ✈️❌. Join us at the Maison Française at the Embassy of France for a lively gathering of Francophiles, French VIPs, diplomats, professionals, and business leaders.
The evening includes Galettes des Rois by Fresh Baguette 🥐, a tasting of Jambon de Bayonne, and a buffet with French cheeses, charcuterie, and vegetarian options.
VIP “Kings and Queens” tickets include an exclusive dinner and access to the VIP Hour, with hors d’oeuvres by Chef Daniel Labonne, Executive Chef of the Embassy of France.
An open bar will be available all night 🥂 with champagne, French sparkling wines, reds, whites, rosés, and European beers, plus prizes and a baguette to take home.
