This is a movement of the uninsured & under-insured to demand that Congress acts in the best interest of the people, instead of the
profiteers (private insurance companies). If you or those you know are uninsured, under-insured, or even unemployed, please attend and let your voices be heard, because Health care is a Human Right, not just for some but for All.

Magic Comes to Seed the Sound on Sunday! No really! World famous magician Justin Kredible will bring his magic show to BloomBars along with a stacked lineup of incredible musicians. Terrence Cunningham starts off guest hosting duties of Seed the Sound. David James (Lead singer of Nndelible) will bless the stage along with BloomBars legends, the Makepeace Brothers (Don’t worry, we’ll clear the pews so you can dance). And of course, one of our brightest seedlings, Hope Leigh Rollins will open the show. Please come join us for a truly magical evening.

Nouveau Riche, is this Saturday at DC9 (1940 9th St NW), and we’re doing some cool/different stuff this time, so I thought I should let you know:

1. Bought a zillion glowsticks and a zillion feet of fake vines. We’re getting there early to deck out the whole place with vines and intertwined glowsticks. Then we’re turning off all the regular lights. So it should be a cool looking glowing forest type vibe.

2. Mark Brown of Baltimore’s Wham City collective is coming down to VJ. He does some really really cool video art, and not only that, there is a song by Dan Deacon called “Mark Brown”. His website is here.

3. We’ll have a face paint stand going from 9-11pm so people can really get into the jungle groove.

When you combine parts (1), (2), and (3) I think the space will feel really transformed.

The regular crew of myself, Nacey, and Steve Starks will be spinning, and as usual we’ll have free beer from 9-10pm.

Adrian Krygowski is a local musician of several previous local bands, and who performs commonly acoustic, regionally. His style ranges from what people would recognize as a Dave Grohl or Butch Walker acoustic set, to heartfelt songcraft by the likes of Conor Oberst or Ryan Adams.

Sunday night, July 26th, will be Adrian’s first time performing at Iota Club & Cafe, with a wide range of acoustic openers including Timothy Bracken, Michael Jantz, and Amy Sullivan. Audience can expect four well-seasoned, regionally-touring songwriters with their own separate sounds, making for a brilliant display of a guitar, microphone, and singer/songwriter.
