The first annual Consortium art show
For one weekend in September, a private mansion in Upper Georgetown becomes the most beautiful room in Washington. Work by women artists, hung salon-style the way Paris did it a century ago: floor to ceiling, frame to frame, every wall alive. Sculpture on the mantels. Paintings up the staircase. Art where art is meant to live, in a home, among people, with a glass in your hand.
This is Girlism, a celebration of the feminine, by women, for women, where eighty percent of every sale goes straight to the artist who made the piece.
The mansion is private, so the address goes out to ticket holders ahead of the show. It sits in Upper Georgetown, where there is plenty of street parking.
Friday, September 25 · the opening gala · 7 to 11 PM · black tie
The house opens for one night of full glamour. Black Tie, open bar, and proper hors d’oeuvres. Music carrying from golden hour to last call. Live painting happening in the room while you watch, and the artists themselves, dressed to the nines, standing next to their work and ready to meet you.
Wear your best. Dressing as a work of art is encouraged.
Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27 · the salon days · 11 AM to 3 PM · open house
The morning-after answer to the gala: slow, sunlit, and a little brunchy. Wander the mansion at your own pace, prosecco or a mimosa in hand (one comes with entry for guests 21 and over). Linger at the salon wall. Find the piece that will not let you walk past it. Come alone or bring the group chat. Stay awhile or stay all afternoon. The doors are open from 11 to 3.
Most of the work is for sale. If something stops you, say so, and we will help you get it home.
