Presented by Casa Kantuta, American Bolivian Collective, and How to La Paz, the weekendshowcases the diversity and vibrancy of Bolivian culture while creating a welcoming space for both the Bolivian community and anyone interested in discovering one of South America’s richest cultural traditions.
The celebration begins on Saturday, August 15, with the Seis de Agosto Party at Metrobar DC. Guests can enjoy Bolivian-inspired cocktails, performances by more than 10 Bolivian dance groups, music by DJ Pampa, and an evening of dancing and celebration in honor of Bolivia’s Independence Day.
The celebration continues on Sunday, August 16, with El Mercadito Boliviano, a curated cultural marketplace hosted at Portrait Social, Georgetown’s newest creative studio. Visitors can shop from Bolivian-owned small businesses and artisans while enjoying traditional salteñas, Boliviancoffee, desserts, handmade goods, fashion, art, a live vinyl DJ, and immersive cultural installations celebrating the richness of Bolivian identity.
